What is Volunteering?

Volunteering provides opportunities for people to become involved in their community, to meet others and make a positive and valuable contribution.
Volunteering is always a matter of choice, and it respects the dignity, rights and culture of others. It promotes equality and human rights, and it is a way for community members to participate in an active way within their community.

Why Volunteer?

Volunteering can provide the opportunity to ‘give something back’, ‘help others’ and develop new skills.
Volunteering is also a way to utilise the existing valuable skills of community members, provide new interests, challenges and opportunities for all.
